403 Appointment Procedure

The County Manager has final authority to appoint, suspend and dismiss employees, except for those who are elected or whose appointment is otherwise provided for by law.

 

Department heads desiring to fill a position must make a written recommendation to the Human Resources Director, which shall include the following documents:

 

Employee Action Form.
Application of the person being recommended and any other pertinent material available on the applicant.
Certified List of Eligible Applicants, if the position was posted or advertised.

 

In compliance with federal law, copies of documents certifying the applicant's identity and eligibility to work in the United States and a completed verification form must be submitted to the Human Resources Department within three (3) days of employment.

 

In the case of a missing document, the new hire must submit a receipt of application for the document within three (3) days of employment and submit the official document within 21 days of employment.
