Examples of different types of contracts include professional and technical services, construction, renovations, maintenance of buildings and equipment and leasing of real property and equipment. Contracts are required when the costs are equal to, or greater than, $5,000.00 and the contract is with a business; or $1,000.00 when contracting directly with individuals or “doing business as” (DBA’s). All exchanges of real property or easements and agreements between other governmental units require contracts.
