County vehicles may be used for any authorized travel. Check with your supervisor before requesting a County vehicle as the use of the vehicle results in a charge to your department's budget. The requesting party must obey all laws of the jurisdiction in which the vehicle is being operated. The vehicle must be used for the purpose of conducting County business only. A minimal amount of personal use, such as driving the vehicle to and from meals, is allowed.
Non-County employees may not accompany County employees in County owned vehicles. However, individuals associated with County operations listed below are exempt from this regulation. Family members or personnel from other governmental units or corporations not having official business with the County are not allowed in County vehicles.
